Tree Spirit “Crann”

A Tree Spirit is a nature deity related to a tree and acting as its guardian. Such deities are present in many cultures. Although often portrayed in art as female Tree Spirits can be either male or female and are usually connected to ancient fertility lore and tree worship. The status of tree deities varies from that of a local fairy, ghost, sprite or nymph, to that of a god or goddess. The name “Crann” is the old Irish word for tree or wood. Crann is the male counterpart to the female Tree Spirit Cliona.

Cast by hand in frost proof casting stone our Tree Spirit can remain outdoors all year round. The plaque is cast with a strong hook for secure display. The Tree Spirit is 24cm wide, 36cm high, and weighs about 3kg. The colour is Cotswold sandstone.

All our ornaments are cast and coloured by hand in our workshop in Zeeland, the Netherlands.

Actual colours can differ from the photos. Because all our ornaments are made and finished by hand no two are exactly alike.
