Parthenon Horse Head Plaques (Set of 2)
This fine set of plaques reproduces two the many horse heads carved on the Parthenon Frieze. Sculpted between c. 443 and 438 BC the frieze was created to adorn the upper part of the Parthenon’s naos, or inner chamber.
This pair of plaques is part of our Cotswold Collection; finely crafted ornaments suitable for both indoors and outdoors.
Cast by hand in frost proof casting stone the Parthenon Horse Head Plaques can remain outdoors all year round. Both ornaments are 27cm wide, 30cm high and weigh about 5kg each. The colour has the look of weathered marble. Both pieces are cast with a strong hook at the, back for secure display.
Actual colours can differ from the photos. Because all our ornaments are made and finished by hand no two are exactly alike.
