Revered for its power and size, the bear has always had a prominent place in ritual and mythology worldwide. In many shamanic traditions, the bear is associated with medicine, healing and magical wisdom. Among the Celts bears were closely aligned with warriors and the martial arts. In the Northern European tradition, the bear, not the lion, was seen as king of the animals.
This handsome piece is a hand-crafted ornament made in frost proof casting stone. Cast with a strong hook for secure display, the Bear Head Mask is 28cm wide, 36cm high, and weighs about 10kg. The colour is light brown weathered sandstone.
All our ornaments are cast and coloured at our workshop in Zeeland, the Netherlands.
Actual colours can differ from the photos. Because all our ornaments are made and finished by hand no two are exactly alike.
