Bacchus round (medium)
This impressive cast-stone ornament is a representation of Bacchus, the Roman god of wild nature, wine, and fertility. Known to the Greeks as Dionysus his purpose according to ancient mythology was to store and release the energy of nature, preside over the harvest, and thereby bring an end to care and worry.
Cast by hand in frost proof casting stone the Bacchus can remain outdoors all year round. It is cast with a strong hook for secure display. The ornament is 26cm wide, 30cm high, and weighs about 3kg. The colour is Cotswold sandstone. This is a smaller version of the Bacchus large (round) which weighs in at 15kg and has long been popular in our Cotswold Collection.
All our ornaments are cast and coloured by hand in our workshop in Zeeland, the Netherlands.
