Description
Armscote Green Woman
The tiny Cotswold village of Armscote is home to this mysterious and intriguing Green Woman. Green Women appear in various forms in in mythology but in general are are far less common than Green Men, probably because they were harder to adapt to Christian iconography. Yet quite a few appear in Romanesque churches built before the 16th century.
Cast by hand in frostproof casting stone the Armscote Green Woman can remain outdoors all year round. She is 20cm in diameter, and weighs approximately 2.5kg. The colour is Cotswold sandstone. She is cast with a strong hook for secure display.
All our ornaments are cast and coloured by hand in our workshop in Zeeland, the Netherlands.
Actual colours can differ from the photos. Because all our ornaments are made and finished by hand no two are exactly alike.
